Happy Peepster 2013!

I don't think I ever hear from so many friends like I do near Easter time. I get pictures sent to me, tagged in Facebook posts when anything is related to Peeps, and messages that someone was at the store and thought of me while browsing the candy aisle.

I'm happy to be thought of and at least I'm remembered for having such good taste. Quiet, Mr. Lewis. I received many boxes of Peeps this Easter season. I had complained that I had tons of Peeps but none of the other delicious candy like Reese's peanut butter eggs, robin's eggs, and Cadbury Creme eggs. Hey, eggs are healthy!

On Friday night, two of my friends came over and gave me an Easter basket full of the aforementioned items. Thank you again! I have great friends who keep me fully stocked on candy and I appreciate their support of my Peeps fetish  obsession  quirkiness. One thing in the basket I'd never seen before was a Peep inside a milk chocolate egg. Mmm.

This is the first year I've actually seen TV advertisements for Peeps. There were a few different ones running but I liked the one of the kid explaining to his brother all the wonderful things you can do with Peeps and the products that exist for the brand. It reminded me of the scene in Forrest Gump where Bubba explains a million things to do with shrimp.
He is right about things like Peeps calendars and Peeps scented candles. They come in 3 different scents- sugar cookies, chocolate mousse, and strawberry cream. How do I know? Well I have them of course! And they smell delicious!

I'm really hoping to swing a trip to the Peeps store that has now opened in PA while I'm out there for my April weekend. Then I can buy more ridiculous things like Peeps scented nail polishes, lip gloss, and keychains. I have to go for small items so I can still make it back with one checked bag. Though I'd love to have one of these 2 foot tall chicks to cuddle!

I have a few things to write about but shelved them since it's Easter. I know you wouldn't expect anything less than Peeps content from me today. :-) I'm trying to make a Peeps cake later today with my family and if it turns out I'll share a pic later on. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Edit- Peeps cake has been made! The intention was to use a fork around the frosting to make a basket weave looking design like an Easter basket. That did not work at all. But I did decorate the top with the shredded coconut (died green, and now my hand is too), Peeps, and jellybeans.

Nonsocial= Predator?

This is a writing I put up on my FetLife profile recently and I wanted to share it here as well.

I am a shy person. Some people I warm up to and then they probably wish I would shut up, but for the most part I'm fairly quiet. In large group settings this is especially true. I tend to observe and listen more than I speak. Sometimes I overthink a comment so much that the moment in the conversation passes in which I could've said it. I may have met you ten times and you still don't know who I am.

There seem to be a lot of folks in the scene who identify as shy or more introverted. So it really makes me scratch my head when I see or hear things assuming someone is a predator because they don't want to come out to public events. Even as a very shy sometimes awkward person, I did take the first step to come to a munch. I wrote about that here as well. It led to me meeting a lot of great people and experiencing a lot of new things.

I love munches because they are laid back and I don't feel pressured to talk all that much if I don't want to. There is plenty going on around me to just observe. I think munches are a great way to meet people, but that doesn't mean they are the only way. It is not a rule that if you don't go to a munch then you are banned to a solitary life and cannot venture into kink.

I love going to play parties. I don't personally play all that much because I do prefer privacy, but I love getting to see a lot of friends in one place. And bonus, it's at someone else's house so my neighbors aren't the ones complaining about noise! I think parties can be a nice setting to meet people, observe, maybe scope out if someone interests you as a play partner. But they are not the only way to meet and/or play with someone.

There are a lot of reasons someone may not want to come out to the public scene. Social anxiety, worries about anonymity, a preference for more private play, hell maybe they don't have the cash for constant parties. Wanting to meet one on one doesn't make a person a predator. Having a crazy schedule that conflicts with being able to go to events doesn't make a person a predator. Not feeling the need to socialize doesn't make a person a predator.

I have a brain and good instincts. If I'm getting a creepy/asshole vibe from somebody then I'm going to listen to my gut and probably not deal with that person. But I can judge for myself if I want to meet up with someone. I'm not going to have them in my home on a first encounter, but I don't think I'll end up dead by meeting someone one on one at Beans and Brews.

Are there people out there who do try to meet privately so they can more easily take advantage of someone? Yeah I'm sure there are. But assuming anyone who doesn't want to come out in public is a predator is just as inaccurate as assuming nobody in the scene possibly could be. An unsafe person could be hiding out anywhere including in plain sight. I'll use my head and safeguard myself in all situations, public or private, but I won't write someone off solely because the public scene isn't for them.

Spankings And Breaking Peeps News

I'm in one of those moods lately where I theoretically want a long hard spanking and to be able to take it well and have that highly fantasized emotional release at the end of it all. I say theoretically because this doesn't always transfer over to real life. I've felt very stressed and emotionally taxed in recent weeks. Personal relationships, living situation, issues with family, friends, finances, and my workplace. It has been an utter shitstorm all at once. I think I have cried just about every day. But not as a result of spankings.

It is rare that all the stars align for me to actually be brought to tears during a spanking. It's not usually a goal either because it seems if I aimed for that I'd be setting myself up for failure. So many things have to fall into place. I have taken some fairly hard ones but it's not the physical pain that gets me to that point. It has to happen in my head. The person spanking me needs to get in my head. Talking helps. When I have to respond to questions it keeps me in the moment and focusing on what is happening rather than letting my stressed out mind wander off worrying about something else. Letting myself submit to it, like Alex wrote about here.

I feel very connected to S when he spanks me. He is a considerate and caring person and top. He has helped me push my limits before when that's where I needed to go. I trust him to do that. He's spanked me in this last week and I felt I wussed out. He started with the leather paddle, a favorite, and even that was testing me early on. Everything stung and I had a hard time staying in place. The wooden paddle was even harder to tolerate. By the time he got to the cane, I was nearly leaping off the bed with each stroke. I squirmed all over the place which I'm sure made it very difficult to aim. It didn't last much longer after that but I did get some cuddling time which was nice.

My idea of fireplay
I have a topic on my mind that I'm wanting to write about but I haven't sorted it all into rational thoughts yet. I may have it all processed by the weekend. But for now, onto the reason I'm sure you're still here. Breaking Peeps news! I have a gas fireplace in my home that recently was made to work after years of living here and never turning it on. I started thinking hey, I wonder if I could roast Peeps in there. Because what normal person wouldn't have that thought?

I took the question to Fetlife about if it was safe to eat Peeps roasted in a fireplace or if I'd die of toxic chemical intake or something. The answers I got were all yes it should be fine and some had done the same thing on a gas stove. That was all the reassurance I needed. I untwisted a hanger and started roasting. Note- Though they tasted just fine, they burn MUCH quicker this way than over a real wood fire.

Fireplace Peeps were a success and I wish I had the ingredients to make Peeps'mores. Maybe next time. Besides fireplaces amazing abilities to roast Peeps, I have more Peeps news. This weekend a friend gave me a bag of chocolates, pictured on the right. This was a product that even I had never had before! I've never even seen them. They are called Peepsters. If you can't read the description in the pic, they are chocolates with a marshmallow flavored creme center.

This is the perfect treat for Peeps lovers and also for people who hate the texture of Peeps but like the marshmallow flavor. If you just don't like marshmallows, you won't like these either. And what is wrong with you anyway? They come in milk chocolate and dark chocolate and were delicious. I say were in past tense because hello, they've since been eaten. She found them in the candy aisle at a local grocery store with the rest of the Easter stuff, so check out a store near you!

This is a closeup of what is inside the bag. They are individually wrapped in pink, yellow, and orange. The colors are just decoration though because inside they are all the same. You can see what an unwrapped one looks like. How cute are these chocolates? Shaped like a Peep with the logo on it. And did I mention delicious? I was asked on Facebook if I get paid to promote Peeps. I wish!! My spanking weekend would be paid off by now. Lol. I'm just passionate about my candy. Easter is less than 2 weeks away and I will report any other Peeps related adventures. I may even try to my hand at one of the many Easter recipes I've seen with the Peeps theme. So many ideas!

One Shade Of Grey?

This would've made for a short book and much less publicity.

Some would prefer to wait for the movie.

If you're feeling really adventurous, go all out and repaint! Who wants a little Liam Neeson in their bedroom? I'm not nerdy enough for Gandalf The Grey.

You have my attention, Ryan.

A friend shared this video with me called "50 Shades Of Domestic Grey." I haven't even seen Hermione post this one yet. It really cracked me up. If I was the one restrained, the other person would only have to say "I'm going to make vegetables for dinner!" Nooo! Why??

For anyone getting spanked on this St. Patrick's Day, I'm green with envy! Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Steak and BJ Party

According to the internet, March 14 is Steak and Blowjob Day. It was made up as the man's holiday to follow a month after Valentine's Day, the woman's holiday. Personally, I didn't get anything for Valentine's Day so why should I reciprocate for this made-up holiday? I don't like steak.

In any case, it ended being the theme for a play party this past weekend hosted by NLA-Utah. They throw the best parties and I haven't missed one yet. It's a fun group of people and always very well organized with great hosts. And yes, there was a penis shaped cake there. Would've been silly to not have one.

I had been spanked by somebody new a few days before the party. It went quite well and now a metal shoehorn is on my acceptable implements list. Only because I prefer stingy so don't take my recommendation on that if you don't. I was quite sore after that spanking and still sporting a few marks from it at the time of this party.

But when has that stopped me? I was ready to go, but not before being on the giving end of a spanking. It was my friend L's birthday and a milestone birthday at that. I had brought my London Tanners strap with me to add a few swats of my own. I did announce first that I am not a top so I didn't want to hear any shit about my lack of technique. Just for fun, people. She wasn't done in by me but got plenty of attention. Happy birthday L!

E and I had talked earlier about playing later on so I went and found him. Something else had just finished up so there were people milling about in the room. I'm about as far from an exhibitionist as one can be. Yes I realize I'm saying that as you're looking at a picture of my ass, but I mean in person. Though with how parties are set up here and DM's needing access to all areas to monitor safety, finding an empty room is near impossible.

So I dealt with it and tried to block out the crowd and focus on the spanking as I got into position. He warmed me up with his hand and then switched to a spatula of some sort. It was so awkwardly quiet as everyone watched that I started making smart ass comments about not liking the music I could hear playing upstairs. That got people laughing and talking about other background music choices.

I tend to be pretty quiet when I'm spanked and this time wasn't much different. Others around were actually voicing more outward oww's and cringes at the swats than I was, which was pretty funny. That is not to say it didn't hurt. It was pretty hard and I was very sore, but I'm just not very vocal. Maybe the crowd added to that with making me subconsciously hold it in since I now had a rep to prove. Lol.

Several other implements were used including ping pong paddles, a belt, and a long wooden paddle. I was being spanked fairly hard with a plastic spatula when I heard E say that it broke. Yeah, I was amused and a bit proud. That's happened very few times in the past. Fortunately it didn't splinter right on me or anything so we continued on.

Not long after that, as he was spanking me with a big paddle ball type paddle, it broke too! The handle just snapped right off. That led to many comments about my "iron ass" breaking all the implements. My bottom was pretty toasted at that point so we didn't go on for too much longer. I counted out a final ten and we were done. I gave him a hug, laughed at the death of his implements, and took them as a souvenir. I may have also shared with anyone listening all night that I caused them to break. Hehe.

The day after
It's not often that I've assed an implement so I enjoyed it. Disclaimer to any tops who can actually read- THIS IS NOT A CHALLENGE! We all know I'm a wuss but just let me have my moment. I was very sore after all that so didn't play any more for the night. The marks are still there as I write this several days later. But I call it a victory. :-)

SCONY Steampunk

The next SCONY Mountain Weekend is just around the corner. It will fall on the last weekend in April and the theme this time is Steampunk. What the heck is that, you ask? I'm still trying to figure that one out myself. Here's what Wikipedia tells me:

"Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery,[1] especially in a setting inspired by industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century. Therefore, steampunk works are often set in an alternate history of the 19th century's British Victorian era or American "Wild West", in a post-apocalyptic future during which steam power has regained mainstream use, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power. Steampunk perhaps most recognizably features anachronistic technologies or retro-futuristic inventions as people in the 19th century might have envisioned them, and is likewise rooted in the era's perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, and art. Such technology may include fictional machines like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or the modern authors Philip Pullman, Scott Westerfeld, and China MiƩville. Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of such technology as lighter-than-air airships, analog computers, or such digital mechanical computers as Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace's Analytical Engine."

Steampunk may also, though not necessarily, incorporate additional elements from the genres of fantasy, horror, historical fiction, alternate history, or other branches of speculative fiction, making it often a hybrid genre. The term steampunk's first known appearance was in 1987, though it now retroactively refers to many works of fiction created even as far back as the 1950s or 1960s."

Say what now? I'm still confused. Let's go back to Wikipedia.

"Steampunk also refers to any of the artistic styles, clothing fashions, or subcultures, that have developed from the aesthetics of steampunk fiction, Victorian-era fiction, and films from the mid-20th century.[2] Various modern utilitarian objects have been modded by individual artisans into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style, and a number of visual and musical artists have been described as steampunk."

In searching Steampunk fashion, I came across images such as these.

And accessories such as these.

I am not a costume person but it will be interesting to see what everyone comes up with. I don't have the budget or the room in my one checked bag to NYC to get a whole elaborate outfit either. I do own this.

Does anyone with a clue on this theme have any easy ideas of what could be pulled together? Opinions are greatly appreciated! The next thing I have to work on is a theme for the 30 day mountain weekend countdown I always send out. So much to do, so little time! No matter what I end up wearing, I will be there and excited to see my friends again!

Second Blogiversary!

The queen of dates (that'd be me) failed this week as I missed my own blogiversary! Feb. 26 marked 2 years from when I started this blog. It has been quite a journey between then and now. Many blogs have come and gone in my short time in the spanko blogosphere and some of the people have too.

I want to thank all of you out there for reading. There are SO many blogs and such varying types of content even within the realm of spanking. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to stop by mine and hope something has made you laugh, think, or shown you a new perspective.

Thank you to all who take the time to comment. I love the interaction here which is one of the things I most enjoy about blogging. Many of you I will never meet, but if anyone ever organizes a spanko blogger weekend I'll be there!

A special thank you to my good friend Joey who has been here since the beginning. You've read and commented on nearly everything I've posted here and always have a kind word. That means a lot to me. Yes it's true, even though he is a top he CAN read and write! Did you catch that, Annabelle? He reads and writes quite well in fact. I highly recommend checking out his very interesting blog if you haven't already.

I don't have any end goal with blogging. I started doing it to have a record of my journey and experiences. The interactions with readers and other bloggers have been a huge bonus in addition to that. I've really enjoyed it and will keep it up until I run out of things to say!

Splitsville

I am one of many who have gone through a major separation/life change since getting into the scene. My divorce didn't have anything to do with the scene though. Or did it? I've always felt that was one thing we did right. Once I shared with my ex my feelings about spanking and what I needed/wanted, he really was pretty great about it. It took me a long time to work up to that talk and he was very understanding. It could have gone a lot worse.

He was vanilla and never quite "got it" fully, but he really did try. I'll always give him credit for that. If anything, I think that having something new to explore together made things last longer than they otherwise would have when the relationship was running out of steam. It forced us to communicate a lot more since it brought up hard topics of deep seated needs, compatibility, jealousy. And it made me really take a hard look at myself and what I wanted.

So did the scene directly lead to my relationship ending? No. But I do wonder if the timing hadn't aligned that way, if I hadn't been exploring new things and experiencing new feelings, what would have happened. Would my mind have stayed closed and would I have resigned myself to an empty life? Would I have continued to keep the peace, smile, and stay quiet forever?

It seems a lot of people find themselves here during/after a big life change. Is that purely coincidence? Or does finding ourselves and coming to terms with what we want give us the courage to venture out on a new path, even if it may be a solitary one?

This was a writing I'd posted on my Fetlife recently. I know my readers there and here don't all cross over so wanted to share it here as well. I know not everyone reading here is part of a public kink scene but I'm still curious about your thoughts on this. Was there a particular event in your life that led you to TTWD and made you want to pursue it? If you were/are in a relationship, how has it been affected if at all?
