Happy Peepster 2013!

I don't think I ever hear from so many friends like I do near Easter time. I get pictures sent to me, tagged in Facebook posts when anything is related to Peeps, and messages that someone was at the store and thought of me while browsing the candy aisle.

I'm happy to be thought of and at least I'm remembered for having such good taste. Quiet, Mr. Lewis. I received many boxes of Peeps this Easter season. I had complained that I had tons of Peeps but none of the other delicious candy like Reese's peanut butter eggs, robin's eggs, and Cadbury Creme eggs. Hey, eggs are healthy!

On Friday night, two of my friends came over and gave me an Easter basket full of the aforementioned items. Thank you again! I have great friends who keep me fully stocked on candy and I appreciate their support of my Peeps fetish  obsession  quirkiness. One thing in the basket I'd never seen before was a Peep inside a milk chocolate egg. Mmm.

This is the first year I've actually seen TV advertisements for Peeps. There were a few different ones running but I liked the one of the kid explaining to his brother all the wonderful things you can do with Peeps and the products that exist for the brand. It reminded me of the scene in Forrest Gump where Bubba explains a million things to do with shrimp.
He is right about things like Peeps calendars and Peeps scented candles. They come in 3 different scents- sugar cookies, chocolate mousse, and strawberry cream. How do I know? Well I have them of course! And they smell delicious!

I'm really hoping to swing a trip to the Peeps store that has now opened in PA while I'm out there for my April weekend. Then I can buy more ridiculous things like Peeps scented nail polishes, lip gloss, and keychains. I have to go for small items so I can still make it back with one checked bag. Though I'd love to have one of these 2 foot tall chicks to cuddle!

I have a few things to write about but shelved them since it's Easter. I know you wouldn't expect anything less than Peeps content from me today. :-) I'm trying to make a Peeps cake later today with my family and if it turns out I'll share a pic later on. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Edit- Peeps cake has been made! The intention was to use a fork around the frosting to make a basket weave looking design like an Easter basket. That did not work at all. But I did decorate the top with the shredded coconut (died green, and now my hand is too), Peeps, and jellybeans.

Peeps are so darn cute. I love the pink bunny ones best. I am sorry you didn't get any peanut butter eggs. Just think, they will all be on sale Monday. Happy Easter!

Hugs,

@joey, We'll have to talk about that. When I last checked they didn't allow tours because of FDA regulations. :-( Happy Easter!

@dancingbarez, Reese's in all it's forms are so good! Happy Easter!

@TL Bucko, Some friends brought me a bunch of other candy too so I'm all covered. Yellow is the most sold Peeps color, followed by pink. Happy Easter!

@ronnie, Those are very good. So many candy choices! Happy Easter!

LOL! Glad to get the Peeps pics of the year. Did you see the diorama that won for the Washington Post contest?

@lea

You are truly the most devoted Peeps personality I know of, at least in the spanking world. Thanks for all you do and remembering me out here in California.

I believe the fast-arriving inclement summer weather in central California is a bit harsh for the little chicks. There is nothing more heart breaking than unloading the groceries and discovering a sticky, yellow glob in a cellophane package at the bottom of the bag---plastic or paper.

@Susie, Thanks! I wish it had tasted as good as it looked, but I'm no chef.

@Erica, But you wouldn't have a piece, would you? ;-)

@Ana, Yes! The twinkie funeral one? So funny!

@eileen, Humidity could be a bad thing for Peeps. But they are still pretty indestructible!
